Few weeks back Amazon launched amazon.in in India, an online marketplace for books and DVDs in the country. One of their spokesperson said that the eCommerce giant has plans to include more products in its catalog such as mobiles, tablets and other electronic products. Cash on delivery option is a new feature that amazon has launched with their Indian eCommerce site. You do however need to pay an extra fee (
39) for COD.
Recently Amazon.in launched their affiliate program – affiliate-program.amazon.com. It was a quite launch and no official announcement was made. To sign you can use your existing amazon affiliate login id and password. Fill in the form and all the necessary info. Your site will be manually approved within 24 hours. Please note that you are required to provide your PAN card details in order to be eligible to receive payments by check.
Competing online book stores like Flipkart and Infibeam offer 6% and 5% commission on books respectively while eBay’s affiliate program is not available in India.
Another important point to note is that amazon.in pays 10% commission which is higher than the usual 6% that the US, UK and other associate programs pay.
